2020 CT6

What's New For The 2020 Cadillac CT6?

This model hasn't seen any generation leaps since its introduction, but that's a good thing. The CT6 is a big, luxurious American sedan that seats five in total comfort, comes with a slew of convenience features, and provides plenty of horsepower. The 2019 model got a refresh that included a new exterior look, a revised set of trim levels, and a turbocharged V8 option. For 2020, the turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines have been discontinued, but the number of standard features on the base trim has increased. This model is still priced less than most foreign rivals in its segment.

Which Trims & Features are Available for 2020?

The 2020 CT6 is available in three trims. The entry-level Luxury trim has 18-inch wheels and LED headlights as standard exterior features. On the inside, one settles down into the leather seating and is surrounded by such features as a 10.2-inch screen display, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Also standard are power-adjustable front seats, a sunroof, driver seat memory settings, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a wireless charging pad. OnStar communications, 4G LTE connectivity, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system are also included. The Premium Luxury trim comes with 19-inch wheels, a rear-seat entertainment system, upgraded seating, and an amazing 34-speaker Bose Panaray stereo. The Platinum trim is similarly equipped but has its own unique engine, the details of which are described below.

A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency

There's no lack of power in the 2020 Cadillac CT6. The Luxury and Premium Luxury trims have a 3.6L V8 engine rated at 335 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard. A 10-speed automatic transmission makes for easy shifting and effortless acceleration. The Premium Luxury trim also comes with Cadillac's Super Cruise assisted adaptive cruise control as well as magnetic ride control and active rear-wheel steering. The Platinum trim gets its own unique engine, the Blackwing, which has a displacement of 4.2L, is turbocharged and produces a total of 500 horsepower. The CT6 features a Sport mode as well as regular driving mode. Acceleration is on par with segment rivals when the car is powered by the standard V8 but is really impressive with the Blackwing engine.

Safety Features in the Forefront for 2020

This model comes with antilock brakes, four-wheel ABS, child seat anchors, and tethers, OnStar emergency communications including emergency vehicle response and roadside assistance, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist are also included across the trim lineup. A rearview camera is included regardless of the trim level. The uplevel trims have an automatic safety belt-tightening system, a following-distance indicator, and forward/reverse automatic braking.
Cylinder deactivation, rear door child safety locks, daytime running lights, auto delay off headlamps, stability and traction control, and a post-collision safety system are standard on all trims. The 2020 Cadillac CT6 also has dusk-sensing headlamps, a passenger airbag occupant sensing deactivation system, and height-adjustable headrests in the rear seating area. Cornering lights and a remote anti-theft alarm system are standard on the Luxury Premium and Platinum trims.
