What's New for the 2019 Cadillac Escalade?

The Cadillac Escalade is entering its twentieth US model year. The Escalade will be replaced by a completely new model in 2020, but the 2019 Escalade model has a variety of updates in the meantime.

The 2019 Escalade has deleted the Dark Granite Metallic and Midnight Sky Metallic colors, replacing them with Shadow Metallic and Manhattan Noir Metallic options.

One standard feature being implemented across all models for the 2019 year is a hands-free tailgate with included logo light. You activate the hands-free mode by moving your foot in a kicking motion underneath the rear bumper.

The last big update is a newly available Sport Package for luxury, premium luxury, and platinum trims. The package includes:

●    Bodyside molding, rear applique, lower fascia trim, and black ice chrome on the front grille
●    Black gloss for daylight opening surround
●    A unique finish on the wheels

What Kind of Engine is in the Escalade?

All Cadillac Escalade models boast the same incredible engine. The power comes from a 6.2-liter V8 engine design that can deliver 420 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission can get you through all kinds of terrain. The standard model has rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive options are available. The Cadillac Escalade has a capacity to carry heavy-duty trailer equipment, and the Magnetic Ride Control has a Sport Mode available. 

How Safe is the 2019 Escalade?

Standard models come equipped with numerous airbags. There's also an electronic stability control system and traction control capabilities to help you stay safe behind the wheel. Both front and rear parking assistance technology is available. You'll also have surround vision, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert systems, and lane keeping assistance.
