What's New for the 2019 Cadillac CT6?
Cadillac's flagship CT6 full-sized sedan has received major updates this
year, including the addition of a brand new Sport trim level. All trim
levels have received cosmetic updates based on Cadillac's new Escala
concept, including new signature head and tail lights, as well as a
newly designed hood, fascia, and decklids. The 2019 update also includes
quality of life improvements, like an upgrade to Cadillac newly updated
Cadillac user experience with a console-mounted rotary infotainment
controller, second-generation wireless phone charging, upgraded front
and rear cameras (including a new zoom and tilt adjustment system), and a
brand new Rear Pedestrian Alert system.
Under the hood, all standard models are now sporting
Cadillac updated 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder LSY engine, while the Sport
models boast a powerful 4.2L Twin-Turbo 8-cylinder LTA engine. A
historic Cadillac first, the new sport engine is the first twin-turbo V8
ever available as standard from the venerable automaker.
All models have also received as standard a
transmission update from the prior model's 8-speed automatic
transmission, and now utilize General Motors' new Hydro-Matic 10-speed
automatic transmission system.Â
What are the Cadillac CT6 Features for 2019?
The 2019 CT6 is available in four trim levels: the standard Luxury
configuration, the sumptuous Luxury Plus level, the aggressive and
powerful Sport package, and the elegant and lavish Platinum package,
which combines Sport features with premium furnishings and driver
assistance systems for a truly extraordinary driving experience.
The base Luxury level includes all of the high quality
features and accoutrements that come standard, such as the Cadillac user
experience and controller, high definition rear camera, and front/rear
park assist.
The Luxury Plus level offers all of the comforts and
features of the standard Luxury design, but further expands the
automobile's suite of driver assistance systems and premium trimmings.
Luxury Plus features include an expanded Cadillac user experience with
built in apps and navigation, Cadillac Driver Awareness Package, heated
front seats and steering wheel, as well as Intellibeam headlamps,
illuminated door handles and concierge lighting, so that you'll never
find yourself lost in the dark.
For those who want a car that has as much power as it does
luxury, the aggressive Sport package includes the features of the Luxury
Plus level, but swaps in a high-speed Sport-style grille, big 19"
wheels, and, most importantly, Cadillac big twin-turbo engine, nearly
doubling the car's horsepower.
The CT6's final level of trim, the Platinum package,
offers the driver a truly superlative experience. A remarkable melding
of elegance and power, the Platinum package combines the Sport package
large twin-turbo engine with the features of the Luxury Plus level,
further refining them for the ultimate in luxury. Boasting a robust Bose
34-speaker sound system, Cadillac Driver Assist Package, an inbuilt
Head-Up Display, heated rear seats, and a rear seat infotainment
display, the Platinum package is truly extraordinary.Â
Power & Performance for 2019
Offering a choice between a 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder engine and the larger 4.2L Twin-Turbo V8, the smaller 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder puts out a respectable 237 horsepower, while the larger Twin-Turbo V8 provides a truly monstrous 550. All models of the 2019 CT6 come equipped with the new Hydro-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission.Â
