What's New for the 2018 Cadillac XTS?
Launched in 2013, the XTS is the Cadillac full-size touring sedan. Now
the brand's top-selling car, the XTS has been retouched for 2018. This
year's edition is an inch shorter than its predecessors, and it benefits
from a design edit of its fenders, grille, headlights and taillights.
It also features more-comfortable seats, and the elegant automaker put
its latest Cadillac User Experience system into this model. CUE for
short, the system provides infotainment features via a user-friendly
interface.
2018 XTS Trims & Features
This big seller comes in the buyer's choice of five trims. Those are
Standard, Luxury, Premium Luxury, Platinum and V-Sport Platinum. Even in
its Standard variety, the 2018 XTS is a wonderful car. Standard buyers
will acquire an XTS with wood trim, dual-zone climate control,
front-wheel drive, four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo front pads, an
eight-speaker Bose stereo, four USB ports, wireless charging, LED
headlamps and LED taillights. Drivers who select the Cadillac XTS Luxury
trim will access heated front seats with ventilation, LED ambient
lighting, illuminating door handles, dual-outlet exhaust and multiple
park-assist modes. Stepping up to the Premium Luxury level garners the
buyer front seats with thigh-adjustment comfort, tri-zone climate
control, a 14-speaker Bose Studio Surround stereo, a reconfigurable
gauge cluster, automatic headlamps and magnetic ride control that lets
the driver select the stiffness of the suspension system. For heightened
luxury, customers can select the Cadillac XTS Platinum trim. This
exceptional class of features includes 22-way adjustable front seats
with massage functions, full-leather seating, leather-wrapped instrument
panel, rear armrest with audio controls, premium sunroof, and a
trim-exclusive grille. The V-Sport Platinum setup builds exceptional
features upon the foundation of the Cadillac Platinum XTS. It comes with
a V-Sport themed gauge cluster, premium alloy wheels and all-wheel
drive.
2018 Cadillac XTS Horsepower
Buyers of the first four XTS trim classes will ride atop 304 horses produced by a 3.6-liter, V6 engine. Discerning thrill enthusiasts who choose the V-Sport Platinum XTS will invigorate their daily travels with 410 horsepower derived from two turbochargers added to the Cadillac XTS engine.
Cadillac XTS Safety
In annual reports since 2013, the Cadillac XTS has achieved Good ratings
for front and side collisions and rollover accidents from the Insurance
Institute for Highway Safety. Further, the organization rates the
Cadillac XTS available front-crash mitigation system as Superior. Auto
buyers can acquire an XTS with that system by choosing Cadillac's Driver
Awareness Package. That safety-focused package provides warning signals
for multiple potential-accident types, low-speed automatic braking,
rain-sensing wipers, a following-distance indicator and a safety-alert
seat. Additionally, every Cadillac XTS driver will benefit from the
OnStar array of concierge features that heighten comfort, convenience
and safety. Cadillac also outfits each XTS with side-mounted airbags,
rear airbags and anti-lock brakes.
