Specs at a Glance

The Cadillac XT5 is a solid SUV all around. This midsize luxury SUV has plenty of enticing amenities to start with, including value and a spacious cabin. The latest XT5 does away with some previously optional features, but it still has an appealing lineup of models. Two of the trims you can get are the Luxury and the Sport. The Luxury is the base model, and the Sport is the top trim level. You'll get some added features with the top trim and some stylistic differences, but the base trim is well-equipped and offers exceptional value.

Performance

There are some key performance differences between the Luxury and the Sport trims.

The Luxury is powered by a 2.0L turbo engine with four cylinders. This engine produces up to 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

The Sport is driven by a stronger 3.6L V6 engine with an increased power output of 310 horsepower. Torque output reaches 271 pound-feet with the Sport.

Both engines have a nine-speed automatic transmission, but they also have different drivetrains. The Luxury trim has standard front-wheel drive, while the Sport trim has all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is also available for the base trim.

Appearance

The Cadillac XT5 has a very attractive exterior with graceful curves and a contemporary design. However, there are a few differences between the Luxury and Sport trims. The Luxury trim rides on 18-inch wheels, and a power liftgate is standard. The Luxury model also has LED headlights and automatic high beams; heated exterior mirrors are another standard feature. With the Sport trim comes a sportier appearance to match the trim's name. Initially, this trim stands out for its larger 20-inch wheels. It also has premium Brembo brakes in front, accented with red calipers. You can order several appearance packages for this trim, including Bronze, Blue, or Red Accent packages. Glossy black wheels come with any color package.

Features

The Luxury and Sport trims both have well-equipped cabins. Dual-zone climate control and heated front seats are standard. The Luxury has comfortable synthetic leather seats, a Bose sound system, a WiFi hotspot, and OnStar. This trim has an eight-inch touchscreen interface and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Sport adds some additional features, including a wireless charging pad, ambient interior lighting, navigation, and leather seats. It also adds some additional safety aids.
