Formula 1® Team Unveils Special Edition Livery for Barcelona Shakedown

Cadillac's Formula 1 Team is about to make a grand entrance into the racing world. On March 8th, the legendary automaker's racing team will make its debut at the Australian Grand Prix, which is held in Melbourne.

In honor of the team's debut, President Mark Reuss of General Motors announced that the team will also test a special-edition livery at the automaker's new global headquarters in Detroit, MI. The special edition livery will be unveiled at Shakedown Week, which is held in Barcelona, Spain, from January 26-30, and later at the Australian Grand Prix in early February.

Cadillac is excited to launch its special livery, which was developed in collaboration with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team and the General Motors Design Team. The partners say this collaboration showcases the global reach of Cadillac's Formula 1 racing team and highlights the technological and creative talent of its F1 racing vehicles. Cadillac announced the special edition livery to hit the racetracks of Spain at its recent opening week celebration at the automaker's new global headquarters. At the event, a replica F1 car sporting the Formula 1 Team's Barcelona Shakedown livery greeted auto enthusiasts and Formula 1 enthusiasts alike. For those who can't make a trip to Spain to see the special livery in action, GM will keep the car on display through January 25 at the Detroit Auto Show.

What is Cadillac Formula 1's Special Livery?

Cadillac notes that its Formula 1 Team Barcelona Shakedown livery is distinct from Cadillac's traditional Formula 1 race livery. The Barcelona Shakedown livery features a bold, aerodynamic design specifically formulated for pre-season development. By testing the Shakedown livery, Cadillac's Formula 1 Team has the opportunity to consider aerodynamic details ahead of the official race season. That gives them time to make any changes or adjustments needed to get a performance edge on the race track. Unveiling the special livery in Spain is exciting for the team and Cadillac, as the automaker can showcase its powerful vehicles, global reach, and distinctive design heritage. Although the team will proudly display Cadillac's Shakedown livery in Barcelona later this month, they will also keep Cadillac's design secrets out of the public eye until then.

Cadillac has, however, released a few sneak peeks at the special edition livery. The livery will feature a monochrome design concept with a striking appearance, including Cadillac's iconic logo, a precise geometric pattern, and color blocking.
