General Motors Launches Cadillac Formula 1 Team and Power Unit  
 

General Motors and Cadillac have partnered on an exciting journey in the world of motorsports. General Motors (GM) is proud to announce the launch of the Cadillac Formula 1 racing team and accompanying F1 power unit. GM and TWG Global stated they have reached an agreement to launch a Cadillac Formula 1 team in 2026.

The Cadillac team will have several exciting components. For starters, it will be the first new Formula 1 team to join F1 in nearly 10 years and the 11th team on the grid. Along with launching the newest team in years, GM and TWG Global also say that their team will have its own power units and F1 racing vehicles by 2030.

As with the cars that it produces for daily drivers, GM's vehicles on the F1 circuit promise to be far from boring. GM's elite racing vehicles will emphasize power, strength, and innovative technology. Some of their top features will include state-of-the-art technology, new software, updated internal combustion engine technology, and advanced electronics. Along with these classic characteristics found in its cars on and off the racetrack, GM also promises to have racing vehicles that showcase its most futuristic design and technology capabilities. The move to create a new F1 racing team is also a new venture for Cadillac, which is excited to join one of America's top automakers in this adventurous partnership. In a statement, Dan Towriss, TWG Global's motorsport business CEO, says that TWG Global is “excited to partner with General Motors in bringing a dynamic presence to Formula 1.” He notes the partners are compiling a world-class team that will exemplify American auto innovation. Adding to the team's strength is that Mario Andretti, a former American F1 Champion, will be the team board's director. Andretti adds that he is also enthusiastic about this novel and formidable partnership of two great American automotive companies on the F1 circuit.
