This past summer, Cadillac announced that it would be releasing a hybrid prototype race car in 2023. This V-Series prototype is intended to be used at the 2023 Le Mans Race. It has been almost 20 years since Cadillac participated in this event. The LMDh-V.R race car (created by Dallara) is equipped to handle both the IMSA WeatherTech Series as well as the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Cadillac’s prototype of the LMDh will be constructed on a standard chassis system with a highly detailed hybrid powertrain. From an exterior standpoint, the LMDh-V.R looks very futuristic and artistic. It has a lot of angles that will make it turn heads when it hits the race track. Cadillac's vice president Rory Harvey is excited about this upcoming release. He vocalized his interest in ensuring that the LMDh is going to provide a good bridge between the current Cadillac lineup and the all-electric future of the automobile industry.
This design is going to be carried out with the help of Chip Ganassi Racing and Action Express Racing. Before hitting the racetrack for the Le Mans, you can check out the LMDh-V.R at the 2023 Rolex 24 in Daytona. With this top-notch racecar hitting the track soon, we could see a shift in the top contender automobile brand when it comes to high-performance racecars.
